PRACTICE AREAS: Civil litigation emphasizing plaintiff’s personal injury, wrongful death and employment cases; criminal law; education law; employee’s labor law.  Fluent in Spanish.

PRO BONO WORK: Mr. Wertheim devotes significant time to pro bono work. He represented, along with other dedicated counsel, many New Mexico religious leaders in a writ petition before the New Mexico Supreme Court to protect the religious rights of potential jurors in death penalty cases. He also has represented the Democratic Party of New Mexico in a writ petition before the New Mexico Supreme Court to attempt to increase ballot access for minorities and the elderly.
