The Jones Firm was founded by trial lawyer O. Russell Jones in 1948. Jones developed a general civil and criminal litigation and transportation and transactional law practice which became the foundation for the Firm. The Jones Firm has maintained a general litigation and business practice, handling a wide variety of matters ranging from the legal problems of individuals to Fortune 500 companies.
The Firm has handled intellectual property matters for more than 30 years. THe Firm handled one of the largest antitrust class actions in the history of the State of New Mexico, while handling, at the same time, one of the largest single plaintiff's commercial cases in the history of the State. The Jones Firm represented an heir of an internationally renowned artist in a will contest, successfully settling the litigation by requiring the transfer of the bulk of that artist's art to museums and other charitable institutions. Of course, past successes cannot be an assurance of future successes because each case must be decided on its own merits. The Firm has handled a number of significant commercial, personal injury, wrongful death and product liability suits, some of which involved Fortune 500 companies. The Firm's practice has included federal "Daubert" and class action certification hearings.
The Jones Firm is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory (rating based on a survey of New Mexico lawyers). |
